Take Heed

"TAKE HEED"

To take heed, simply means to pay attention to.  It requires action on our part.  It requires a plan of action that requires precaution.

On February 20th of this year, I fell on ice.  I am thankful to the Lord that after x-rays, there were no broken bones.  And several weeks later, I am still sore.  However, had I taken "heed" to the weather, and wore my "Yak-Tracks" (which bite into the ice) I would not have fallen.  I would have had better traction.

Now, let's look at this from a Biblical view.

In I Cor. 10:12 it states..."Wherefore, let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." The very next verse (13) tells us that God is faithful to make a way of escape.

You see, many of us think we are ok.  We might say,..."well I  am alright.  I never killed anyone, or stole anything etc.  So I should make it to heaven."  But again the Bible says ..Not of works, lest any man should boast"...(Eph. 2:8 & 9)

If we look at the natural-- there are highway signs which might tell us that a bridge is out.  We don't heed the warning, so we could drown!  God gives us the choice to choose to take the proper action.  But if we don't take heed, we suffer the consequences.

So, you might ask, "how do we stand, and not fall?"  First of all we need to have a personal relationship with Jesus.  And then follow what II Peter 1:5-10 tells us.  Also Ephesians 6:13-20    This tells us how to stand and not fall.
